On March 24, 2026, a discussion about the monograph “In the Enemy’s Uniform” drew a large and enthusiastic audience at the Centrum PANT in the city of Ostrava. Two of the co-authors, Zdenko Maršálek and Jiří Neminář, began by explaining the background behind the book itself as well as the entire research project. In a conversation with the book’s editor, Iveta Coufalová, the authors then discussed issues of identity, loyalty, the artificial shaping of patterns of collective memory, and, in particular, the fates of individuals, thrust—often against their will—into the maelstrom of global war.
