In late June 2025, the journal A / MAGAZÍN of the Czech Academy of Sciences informed about the research into the issue of the service of Czechoslovak citizens in the German armed forces during World War II. The article “In a Wehrmacht Uniform,” based on an interview with Zdenko Maršálek, presented several key points on the topic, which was also close to the heart of the article’s author, Leona Matušková, due to her own family history.
The article was thereafter also selected for the English edition of the magazine, which is compiled annually, allowing international readers to learn about the topic as well.
